Wildflower Bouquet

I took 1st Anniversary pictures today for one of my dear friends and we had a ball getting her all fancied up in her wedding dress and fixing her hair. Last night we sat on the floor and talked while I put this bouquet together for her. Originally for her wedding I was going to make her bouquet for her, but all my flowers died and with all the fires I didn't end up going up to her wedding, so it was fun to be able to make this bouquet for her for their 1st Annivesary shoot (and then I got to see her in her wedding dress too)!

I found all my supplies at Hobby Lobby. Mallory told me the colors she wanted, and I spent over an hour wandering through the flowers to find just the right ones. I wanted it to look good and as wild as I could. It took some clipping of stems and swapping of flower heads, but finally I got the arrangement I was hoping for. I wrapped the stems with tons of floral tape and then used wired grape vine (also artificial) to make the hand hold, but to keep the wild look to it. I love how it turned out!

You can see a small preview of the pictures here:

Fabric Exchange Projects: Aprons, Placemats, and Bags

I did a fabric exchange with 2 of my sisters and one of my sisters-in-law. We each picked out 3 fat quarters, sent them to my mother and then she sent us back someone elses fabric. We then had to make something out of that fabric. We could add other fabrics, but we had to use at least one piece of each of the fabrics sent to us. So here's the fabric I received:

And here's what I made: A reversible apron!

Here's detail on the belt of side 1:

And detail on side 2 (where you can see the main fabric is a gray and white pinstripe).

My Sis.-in-Law got my fabric:

And here's the adorable ruffle apron she made:

Here's the fabric one of my sisters got:

And here's what she made:

And then I don't have a picture of the original fabric my other sister got, but here's the placemats and hot pads she made:
